I decided to do some research on schizophrenia since our actress in the movie needs to portray the role of someone who has the disorder. People with schizophrenia deal with many symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, chaotic behavior, and anxiety. This is why we plan on our main character seeing hallucinations while she is going downstairs from her perspective. We can also make the main antagonist of the movie be a huge hallucination however, we are still talking about that currently. People with this disorder have a huge issue with telling what is real to what is fake. They might also get exaggerated ideas. This is why in the movie our character will be confused and be unable to tell the real to the fake.
Another symptom of schizophrenia is withdraw so we plan on showing her having a disconnection to humans since no other people will be shown in the movie and there will be no picture frames of people in the film. Back to the hallucinations, a form of hallucination is audio based which is why a huge key element in our movie will have whispers in her head. While my group is still researching this mental disorder, we plan to watch more videos and read more articles to get the perfect image of schizophrenia in our movie.
